Description

A novelty die-cut card in the shape of a glove. Lithographed white 'stitching' on a green ground. The glove opens downwards from the fingertips to reveal a lithographed image in black and white of two babies dressed in long lacy gowns and caps with the motto below: A PAIR OF KIDS. Mounted on the same album leaf an identical example with a brown ground, P.14412-R-61. Presumably, other colours were also available. For gloves as valentine motif, see Frank Staff, _The Valentine & Its Origins_ (London, 1969), pp. 78-81.
