Valentine card
Publisher: Dobbs, Henry
White lace-paper mounted with a rectangular pink and gilt lace-paper panel within which is a small oval silvered panel with a chromolithograph of pink roses at the centre. A small scrap of an archway with flowers mounted onto the lace-paper at lower centre with the printed motto: 'TRUTH'. 'DOBBS' stamped at lower centre (viewed from the verso). A hand-written verse in black ink on the inside right-hand page: 'When from the heart whose sorrow sits, / Her dusky shadow mounts too high, / And in the changing aspect flits, / and clouds the brow, or fills the eye ...'.
