Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A 'raised' valentine with a top layer of ornate, gilt embossed die-cut paper as a rectangular frame mounted on paper springs to a second layer of plain embossed paper with scalloped edges tinted blue. The frame is decorated with flower scraps at the four corners and at lower centre, a collage of white silk leaves with a shield-shaped flower scrap and mottoes: 'I / love you' and 'MIRTH'. The frame is partially adhered to the second layer of paper. At the centre, an ornate gilt embossed frame of die-cut paper surrounds a chromolithograph of a Cupid in a pink tunic holding a pink rose. The front paper is adhered to the back paper.
