Description

A white lace-paper 'front' mounted onto a larger piece of brown wove paper. The lace-paper has a central oval window with a rice-paper blind stencilled in gouache with a design of flowers and a coloured bird. A lithographed scroll is affixed below with the verse: 'Snatch the hours / of sweetest May / Love roses bloom / but to decay'. The embossed flower designs at the four corners of the lace-paper are hand-painted in gouache.
