Valentine card
Publisher: Kershaw, George
Cameo-embossed white lace-paper with a scene of palm trees and temples surrounding Cupid with a lady at lower centre. An oval window at the centre has a green gauze blind mounted at the centre with a silver embossed paper shrine ornament, above which is a red transparent cellulose book lithographed in gold ink with two mottoes: 'LOVE'S / DEVOTION / AFFECTION'S / OFFERING'. At lower centre is a collage of cut-paper, hand-coloured flowers and fabric leaves with a gilt paper bow. 'KERSHAW LON[DON]' stamped along the spine at lower left. A hand-written graphite inscription on the inside right-hand page: '4/-' [4 shillings].
