Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White lace-paper border with central rectangular panel mounted with four roses cut from pink paper with lithographed detail in red ink and cut-paper green leaves with stems and tendrils hand-drawn in red ink around a drawing of the word 'LOVE' in gold ink with cutwork letters. A hand-written inscription above and below the central decoration in black ink: 'Content with thee my / Dearest Valentine'. A different inscription in the same hand is found on an almost identical card in the same album, P.14414-R-2. P.14414-R-2 also bears a George Kershaw stamp, and so it seems likely that this card, although unstamped, is also by Kershaw. The interior is blank.
