The Morning News Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White lace-paper with central oval panel mounted with a padded oval medallion featuring chromolithographed flowers with silvered background and edge of white and pale orange (hand-coloured) lace-paper. A real pink satin ribbon bow is affixed at the top of the medallion and there are two collages of cut-paper and hand-coloured flowers and leaves to either side at centre left and right. Affixed at lower centre is a mock envelope/folder with white lace-paper edge inscribed/lithographed in blue ink: 'The Morning / News'. The flap opens to reveal the message inside: 'I love you / dearly'. The front paper is adhered to the back paper. This card has all the hallmarks of a Henry Dobbs card. It is possible that a stamp exists underneath the affixed mock envelope.
