Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
Cream wove paper with a lace-paper border and central rectangular panel with applied white lace-paper lozenge and central puzzle purse (blank interior) decorated with a stencilled design of forget-me-nots. Stencilled flower design of pink roses and ivy leaves with tendrils in red ink at upper and lower centre and stencilled leaves and applied red paper flowers at centre left and right. A hand-written message in black ink at upper and lower centre: 'An Offering of Love & / Truth to thee'. The interior is blank. Although this card is unstamped, it is almost certainly by George Kershaw as it shares the same features as the two Kershaw cards mounted on the same album leaf - the stencilled puzzle purse - and also uses the pink roses and ivy motif as another Kershaw card contained in the same album. See P.14414-R-40.
