Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White lace-paper with shaped edges. The front paper is adhered to the back paper and the valentine has been trimmed all the way round. At the centre is an applied panel of white lace-paper with a circular window and white paper blind mounted with a pair of cut-paper and hand-coloured yellow birds holding a gold paper ring in their beaks. A cut-paper lithographed scroll in gold ink bears the motto: 'I love only thee'. The edges of the central panel are decorated at each corner with collages of cut-paper, hand-coloured leaves and flowers with hand-painted, stencilled additions. A border in blue ink or paint is drawn around the edge of the central panel.
