Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A lithograph printed in black ink on white wove paper, mounted onto a slightly larger sheet of buff-coloured paper. A gothic-style cottage with diamond-pane leaded windows set within large public gardens. Other buildings, including a double-storey galleried building at the far left (partly missing through weak impression) and two neoclassical-style church towers at the far right. Two ladies promenading at centre right are followed by Cupid whilst a gentleman stands watching beneath a tree at the far right. Entwining acanthus stems and flowers border the image at upper and lower centre and along the left edge, although this area of the printing is largely missing due to a weak impression. From the same series as two other valentine-themed prints mounted nearby in the same album, which show men and women in public parks accompanied by Cupids. See P.14348-R-130 and P.14348-R-131.
