Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A lithograph printed in black ink on white wove paper which has been trimmed and mounted onto the album leaf. A group of men and women enjoy a picnic beneath a tree in open parkland at centre left, a river or lake with swans to the right and a tower seen on the opposite bank at the far right. The figures of Cupid and Hymen can be seen hovering in the air above the group in the centre distance. Entwining acanthus stems and flowers border the image at upper and lower centre and along the left edge. From the same series as two other valentine-themed prints mounted nearby in the same album, which show men and women in public parks accompanied by Cupids. See P.14348-R-127 and P.14348-R-131.
