Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
A lithograph printed in black ink on white wove paper which has been trimmed and mounted onto a larger sheet of buff-coloured paper. A pleasure garden with a fountain, temples, towers and promenading figures. A male figure in the left foreground watches two ladies on the right. Behind him, a hovering cupid prepares to fire an arrow. Entwining acanthus stems and flowers border the image along the left, right and upper edges. From the same series as two other valentine-themed prints mounted nearby, which show men and women in public parks accompanied by Cupids. See P.14348-R-127 and P.14348-R-130.
