Valentine card

A lithograph in black ink with early colour lithographic printing (yellow, pink, blue, green and orange inks) on 4to-size thin, white wove paper. A circular garland of fruit and flowers with various winged putti holding it up and Cupid with his bow on the right. At the centre is a half-length female figure wearing a feathered bonnet and holding a card decorated with an arrow-pierced heart. A verse is printed below: 'I seek no more, of thee possesst, / By thee delighted, rapturd, blest / I seek no more, - Ah smile on me, / Thy smile is love, and love is thee.'. The interior is blank.
