Description

A large sachet valentine of gilt lace-paper with embossed roundels covering a sachet of padded pink silk. The recto only is displayed where the lace-paper design has a central oval window opening onto the silk which is decorated with a chromolithographed housemartin carrying an insect in its beak. Two mottoes on scrolls are affixed at upper centre: 'CONSTANCY' and at lower centre: 'An Offering of Affection'.
