Valentine card
Publisher: Unknown
White embossed cameo lace-paper with a scene of fluted and garlanded classical columns and winged putti overlaid with cut-paper and hand-coloured putti, some with flower garlands, mounted on paper springs (most of them now pasted down) with cut-paper embossed gold metallic scrolls and hand-colouring at upper left and right. At the centre is a collage of pink and lilac linen flowers and leaves with some cut-paper greenery and tinsel flower centres. A pictogram motto is stencilled onto a roundel of white paper with a crimped edge where an image of an anatomical heart containing the words, 'ACCEPT / MY', completes the punchline. The front paper is adhered to the back. P.14418-R-10 is an almost identical design, but with a different motto.
