Valentine card
Publisher: Meek, George
Small 48mo-size valentine of white lace-paper with a pink slip paper and central oval window with a rice-paper blind which is hand-painted, probably aided by a stencil, with a design of a violet and pink rose. A square of white paper affixed at lower centre bears a lithographed motto in blue ink: 'My Heart / with love / beats but / for thee'. The front paper is adhered to the back paper. 'MEEK' stamped along the spine at lower left. A hand-written inscription in graphite on the album leaf with directional stroke towards P.14418-R-24: 'Given to me by Lally'. The hand is unknown.
