Description

A small 48-mo size valentine of white embossed lace-paper with a green slip paper. A central oval panel is hand-painted with a design of a violet and red flowers with hand-written motto in red ink: 'Think of / me.'. 'MEEK' is stamped along the spine at upper and lower left and at lower centre. The back paper is missing. An initial 'E' is written in graphite on the album leaf below the valentine. The names 'Edith' and 'Netty' are written into the album. These names would probably account for the single initials of 'E' or 'N' written on the album leaves adjacent to a number of the valentines in the album. The initials presumably indicate either from whom they were received or to whom they were sent.
