Well! You are a nice little Duck Valentine card
Publisher: Dobbs, Henry
A small 48mo-size valentine of white lace-paper. At the centre is a cut-paper, hand-coloured mallard duck affixed onto painted water with reeds and a collage of cut-paper, hand-coloured flowers with additional stencilled leaves. At upper centre written in blue ink: 'Well! you are a nice / little Duck'. 'DOBBS & CO' is stamped at lower left. The front and back paper are adhered together. An initial 'N' is written in graphite on the album leaf below and to the left of the valentine. The names 'Edith' and 'Netty' are written into the album. These names would probably account for the single initials of 'E' or 'N' written on the album leaves adjacent to a number of the valentines in the album. The initials presumably indicate either from whom they were received or to whom they were sent.
