Valentine card
Publisher: Mansell, Joseph
A small valentine comprising a folded sheet of thin, white coated paper mounted with a white lace-paper oval panel with scalloped edges. MANSELL stamped on the panel at lower centre. A collage of hand-coloured cut-paper foliage and flowers inside a silver paper urn ornament. A verse is written around the lower half in blue ink: 'Oh! let me love thee ['love' overwritten in black ink], And soon subdue thee'. The interior is blank. There is a handwritten price on the verso at upper left: '1/6 [1 shilling and sixpence]'. Found loose with P.14601-R inside a white envelope printed in black ink: 'UNIVERSITY OF CAMBRIDGE'.
