Description

Tea jar with stopper and cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in underglaze blue. Jar of ovoid shape, and sloping shoulders tapering to a flat recessed, glazed base with 6-character mark of Chenghua in underglaze blue. The body is painted with a tree surrounded by mountainous landscape, and water with two boats beneath a scrolling border with four flower heads, and above three circular lines in underglaze blue. Pacton (white bronze) cylindrical neck, stopper and cover, the latter with a circle of raised stylised decoration.
