Description

Tea jar with stopper and cover. Hard-paste porcelain painted in underglaze blue. Jar of cylindrical shape resting on an inverted, knife cut, unglazed footring with flat, recessed glazed base and four character mark in underglaze blue. The body is painted with two figures in a thatched house by a river surrounded by trees and mountainous landscape. A tight scroll and flower head border encircles the pacton (white bronze) neck stopper and cover which is undecorated. A single line in underglaze blue encircles the foot.
