Half title: Sancti Evangelii secundum Matthaeum capita V, VI, VII.
Latin text from the Vulgate, with a minor change in the Lord's prayer; followed by the Dutch version by the Vereniging 'Petrus Canisius, ' with half title De Bergrede.
"Een oplage van 50 exemplaren . Exemplaar 43."

Bound in toned calf vellum; blocked in gold, with the Lord's Prayer on both boards. Inside of the boards edged with brown morocco; brown Japanese handmade end papers with individually marbled motifs. Designed and tooled by Joan Tebbutt and S. M. Cockerell - monogrammed and dated "19 J SC T 80".

"This book was printed by Robert and Moira Gibbings at the Golden Cockerel Press at Waltham Saint Lawrence in Berkshire. Begun on the 20th of February, 1931, it was completed on the 28th October in the same year. Compositors: F. Young and A. H. Gibbs. Pressman: A. C. Cooper. 500 copies have been printed, of which numbers 1-12 are on vellum. This is No. [in ms] 96."--Colophon. Provenance: purchased from the W.S. Blunt Fund, with the aid of the Victoria & Albert grant-in-aid fund from Duvat & Hamilton, bk.- sellers. Accesssion no. 810459. Bound in toned vellum; tooled in gold, with black ink brush lettering on the spine. Designed and tooled by Joan Tebbutt and S. M. Cockerell - monogrammed and dated "19 J SC T 79". Edge of pages gilt. In special case constructed by the Fitzwilliam Museum.
