Description

Netsuke: katabori: Woman with attendant. Wood, carved and stained. Figure group of a woman, standing, with an attendant behind her carrying a paper lantern. The woman wearing a hat and robes, the attendant's robes incised with foliage. Natural himotoshi formed between the bodies.

History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
