Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). A small lithograph with stippled effect. Two men seen in profile study one another at close quarters in an opera box. On the left is Prince William Frederick, 2nd Duke of Gloucester and Edinburgh (nephew and son-in-law of George III) and on the right is General Sir Robert Thomas Wilson. The latter holds an opera glass in his left hand which rests on the ledge of the box. Signed with monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'TWO BRIGHT CONSTELLATIONS / Seen through an Opera Glass.'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos. McLean, 26, Haymarket, July 27th. 1833.'. A small, circular blind stamp at lower left: 'THOs. MCLEAN'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'A. Ducôté's Lithogy. 70 St Martins Lane.'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No 276'.
