Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). William Conyngham Plunket, 1st Baron Plunket, Lord Chancellor of Ireland, sits at a dinner table eating a stew composed of tiny people wearing Bishops' robes. Signed with monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'CANNIBALISM / or / AN IRISH STEW'. The 'H' of 'Hannibalism' is struckthrough and replaced with a 'C' so that the word becomes 'Cannibalism'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos. McLean, 26, Haymarket, August 5th 1833.'. A small, circular blind stamp at lower left: 'THOs. MCLEAN'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'A. Ducôté's Lithogy. 70 St Martins Lane.'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No 281'.
