Description

Lithograph (uncoloured) on white wove paper. Inlaid within a frame of buff wove paper (approx. height 360mm x width 515mm). A carriage with lettering on the side: 'Anna Brody / Hertford' is driven by two horses passing along a road in the foreground at high speed, from right to left, following a sign, 'To Hitchin.'. One of the horses is driven by a man seated on its back and the profile of a man inside the carriage can be seen (Lord Denman). In the distance at the far left, another sign 'To Barnet' (in the opposite direction) is followed by a rider who whips the horses. The silhouette of a man wearing a top hat can be seen inside the carriage (Lord Brougham). Signed at lower left with monogram: 'HB'.
