Lord Brougham, in the character of a Centaur, is carrying off a blindfolded female figure, who holds the scale of justice in her right hand and wears a sash, only half seen, labelled, '[...]ctral Crim:Court's Bill.'. ('Act for Establishing the present Central Criminal Court'). Signed with artist's monogram at lower left: 'HB'. Title printed below the border: 'THE CENTAUR OR THE RAPE OF THE _ACT_,' Below the title: 'Restored from the Antique.'. The publisher's details printed below the border to the left: 'Published by Thos. McLean, 26, Haymarket, Novr. 22nd.1834.'. Printer's details below the border to the right: 'Ducôté & Stephen's Lithogy 70, St. Martins Lane.'. Printed above the border at upper right: 'HB Sketches No 347'.
