Description

Etching and stipple on paper. Head and shoulders portrait of a man in profile facing right. He wears a short wig with thick curls at the base and a plain coat and collar. Inscription in pen and ink below the platemark at lower centre: 'Sharpe the Turner of Cambridge who etched this & several other portraits'. Late proof of the same plate as seen in P.14840-R and P.14841-R, with all areas, including the background, highly worked.
