Etching and stipple on paper. Head and shoulders portrait of a man in profile facing right. He wears a short wig with thick curls at the base and a plain coat and collar. The artist's initials 'C: #.' are just visible beneath cross-hatching at lower right. A later state of P.14838-R, which is signed at lower right with the artist's initials: 'C: #.'. See also BM: 1852,0214.318.
