Emperor Brashyer
Printmaker: Seaby, M.
Etching on paper. An elderly male figure, half-length, seen in profile facing right. He wears a wide-brimmed straw hat with front brim upturned and a coat with brass buttons. Scratched letters on the plate at upper left: 'M Seaby 1794' and at lower right: 'Emperor - / Brashyer'. This would appear to be a partial copy in reverse after the etching by Baldrey. See P.14868-R. Emperor Braysher was a Cambridge porter who was entirely blind.
