Etching on paper. Oval. A three-quarter-length portrait of a middle-aged gentleman facing front with head turned towards the right. He wears a wig and holds a brimmed hat in his right hand. His coat is buttoned up to the neck with a necktie tucked in at the top. A densely hatched background with a deal of surface tone. Etched onto the plate along the edge of the oval at lower left: 'R.t Loder Oxford'. A latin inscription engraved on the plate below: 'Nunc est bibendum Domine'.
