Felicitas Britanniae medal

This is one of the beautiful medals executed by John Roettier, commemorating the arrival of Charles II in London on 29th May 1660 (which was also his birthday). The intent of the artist was to show that the Restoration was effected, under Providence, by Wisdom and Fortitude, and that it brought unanimity, justice, and peace to Britain.
