Description

A scene in a bedroom. A male and female are dressing, while another man, presumably the father, is looking down upon them from a doorway above.

Notes

History note: Eugène de Wassermann, Brussels; bt. Hermann Metter, 1920s; sold (Sotheby’s) 20-21 April 1959, lot 70, from a ‘portfolio’ of 31 proof impressions; bt. ‘Warren’ for £680; 24 of which purchased by the Fitzwilliam for £300.
