History note: Lot 224 at Sotheby's, 26 February 1900, with a second volume of the same date belonging to another copy. Bought by Leighton's, who sold vol. 1 to Charles Butler, of 3 Connaugth Place. Lot 96 in the Butler sale, 5 April 1911. Purchased by Francis Edwards, who sold it to A. Chester Beatty. Lot 18 in the Chester Beatty sale at Sotheby's 7 June 1932. Bought by T.H. RIches, and bequeathed by hom to the Fitzwilliam Museum, 1935.
