Mezzotint. Fully-lettered state. Engraved in sloping script with artists' names at lower left: 'Painted by I. J. Masquerier, Paris, from life' and at lower right: 'Engraved by Cha.s Turner, London'. Title engraved in closed capital letters: 'NAPOLEONE BUONAPARTE, / FIRST CONSUL OF FRANCE.' Engraved script: 'Born at Calvi in Corsica, Department of the Golo, August 15, 1769'. Publication details below: 'London, Published as the Act directs March 21, 1801. for the Proprietors, & may be had at No. 22 Piccadilly'. Inscribed in graphite on recto at upper centre: '24' and on the verso: '12'.
