This copy is from the library of Cardinal Ottoboni and contains an autograph letter signed by Louis XV, and letters signed by Marie Leczinska, his Queen, and by Cardinal De Fleury expresssing their satisfaction with the opera, which was presented in Rome in honour of the birth of the Dauphin. Catalogued separately (MS 208).
Binding: Red morocco with gilt lettering on top of upper & lower boards: 'ad usum bibliothecae Otthoboniae' & with gilt arms of Loius XV in centre of upper & lower boards; border of fleurs-de-lis on the sides.
Inscribed: "Fitwilliam 1803". With manuscript inscription on front free end page by Fitzwilliam: '... Ce volume avec les lettres qu'il renferme été enlevé de la bibliotèque du Cardinal Otthoboni...'.
