Description

Box, lacquer. Circular box in the form of a persimmon.The deep-seated lid forms the upper part of the fruit and the lower section is rounded with the leaves and stalk moulded on the base.The black ground is powdered with gold (sunago), gradually turning red as it nears the top. The inside is nashiji (shimmering spangles).
