Collection of 297 pieces for keyboard.The first 95 are numbered in the original manuscript; nos. 96-297 are those given in the edition by J.A. Fuller Maitland and W. Barclay Squire (Breitkopf & Hartel, 1899 ; reprinted by Dover Publications, 1963; revised, 1980). Other sequences of numbers apply to the pieces by Giles Farnaby, Peter Philips, Sweelinck & Tomkins.

'Queen Elizabeth's Harp Book Purchased at the sale of Doctor Pepusch's Collection, B R Bremner 1762 [actually 1752] for 10 guineas' - note inside front cover. 'Given by Mr Bremner to Lord Fitzwilliam' - note inside front cover.
