31 harpsichord sonatas, being a compilation of several single sonatas, several pairs, and a collection of 9 sonatas.

In the hand of R. Fitzwilliam and two or three copyists. Fitzwilliam most probably copied the sonatas in Madrid in 1772. Since he uses paper with the same watermarks as two of the copyists, it is probable that all the manuscripts were copied in the same year.
All were published, except those marked "Printed", in "Thirty sonatas, for the harpsichord or piano-forte, publish'd (by permission) from manuscripts in the possession of Lord Viscount Fitzwilliam composed by Sigr. Domenico Scarlatti" (London: Rt. Birchall, [1800])

With thematic index in the hand of R. Fitzwilliam, p. 124-125, with two marked "Printed" (p. 57 and 67)
Ownership inscription: 'R. Fitzwilliam, Madrid 1772'.
Bookplate: 'Fitzwilliam'.
Binding: vellum, with red leather label on cover "SCARLATE", conservation details given in ts. note at end, by Nicholas Pickwoad, 22 April 1986.
