Note

One of a pair of designs for the tomb of the 8th Earl of Carlisle, at Laverscost Priory, Castle Howard. They were executed in bronze by Sir J. Edgar Boehm R.A., who also collaborated with Burne-Jones on other designs. The same composition was later used in 1888 for a large Nativity at St. Michael's Church, Torquay.
