Glassmaker: Unknown
Lead glass. Almost cylindrical form with thick base. Engraved with diamond point with the number 45 within a shield surrounded by a coronet, below the motto 'veritas triumpht' and the owners name 'John Wilkes Esq' and date '1769'. On the base is inscribed 'The Gift of W.J. toJ.W. on the 14th Feb being the 45th Day of the Year 1769'. Also a drawing of a 'boot' hanging from a gibbet and below the boot '1769 - John Bute'.
