A group of impressions of 24 medieval seals (mostly Scottish) and 7 gem stones, and plaster casts of 94 ancient Greek and Roman coins each in a gilt cardboard mount, probably from some standard 19th-century set. These formerly belonged to the donor's great grandfather, Robert Carfrae, FSA Scot. (1820-1900). Also three sealing wax impressions: Signet seal of Victoria and of Edward VII, and of the George Heriot hospital, which probably came from the donor's grandfather or uncle, who were Writers to the Signet.
