These life studies were probably preliminary ideas for 'Daphnis Pipes the Goats' [172], an illustration to Daphnis and Chloë, Ashendene Press, Chelsea, 1928/3`, p. 137. It is possibly that the model was Gerald Meade (see PD.25-1994).
