Constitutes the 4th volume of "Cabinet du roi" as described in "Catalogue des volumes d'estampes dont les planches sont à la Bibliothèque du Roy.- A Paris, de l'imprimerie royale, 1743"
Title from: Catalogue des volumes d'estampes ... 1743.
Includes: Ornemens de peinture et de sculpture, qui sont dans la Galerie d'Apollon au chasteau du Louvre, et dans le grand appartement du Roy au palais des Tuilleries.
The title is engraved by Gérard Jean-Baptiste Scotin after Jean Berain, pl. 2 to 12 (Trumeaux and ceiling of the Galerie d'Apollon) are attributed to Jean Berain I, but would be engraved by Jean Berain fils (cf. Désiré Guilmard, Les maître ornemanistes ..., 1880, n ° 29); plates 13 to 25 (Doors of the large Tuileries apartment) engraved. by François Chauveau; finally plates 26 to 29 (Paneling in the large apartment at the Tuileries) engraved by Jean Lemoyne.
Plate 2 represents the machines which were used to raise the two large stones of the pediment of the main entrance to the Louvre.

Ownership inscription: "Fitzwilliam 1792".
