Description

Footed beaker. Clear glass, cut and wheel-engraved. Facetted ogee bowl with plain, slightly domed foot. Decorated with two gentleman and a driver in an open carriage drawn by two horses. In the foreground there is a man standing with his hat in his hand beside the words 'bon voyage'. The scene has a rectangular frame composed of scrolls, strapwork, baskets and bouquets of flowers and foliage.

History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
