Glassmaker: Unknown (Probably)
Clear glass, cut and engraved. Ogee bowl with facetted lower part facetted baluster stem with basal collar; circular foot. The bowl is decorated with two panels separated by narrow panels. One panel contains an inscription in German surrounded by a formal border; the other is cut with a shell and engraved with flowers, and scrollwork. The rim is encircled by a narrow border of triangles. The underside of the foot is cut with radiating ovals separated by straight cuts, and engraved on the top with a border of scallops.
History note: H.S. Reitlinger (d.1950); the Reitlinger Trust, Maidenhead, from which transferred in 1991.
