Libretto probably by T. Morell.
Engraved throughout, except letterpress list of subscribers (3 p.).
With frontispiece portrait of "George Frideric Handel" by "J. Houbraken, sculps. Amst." with a scene below engraved by Hubert François Gravelot -- page [2] of preliminary pages
"A list of subscribers" - pages [5]-[7] of preliminary pages.
"Index" - page [9] of preliminary pages.
Founder's bequest, 1816. Inscribed on title page: "Fitzwilliam, 1799".
Received bound in royal blue paper spine with marbled paper sides (sample preserved). Rebound in quarter goatskin with marbled sides and vellum tips, with original paste-downs retained by Angela James, 1981.
Former shelf mark: 31.F.35.
