Coverboards covered with white linen. The spine and back coverboard have been marked by water. Off-white paper. Collocation: five gatherings, containing the following number of leafs: two (one attached to front coverboard); six; six; seven (one torn out); six (two loose, and one attached to back coverboard). 18 sides out of 26 double-sided pages remain blank.

Note

This sketchbook contains no preliminary sketches for wood engravings but a number of studies of acquaintances, and sketches of details of them. Some have been identified, including ?[V. Witham], Fanny Farrer/an Olivier, du Puy?. Page 11 (verso) has a study with background of three figures lyingon the ground by trees, two sitting up, one sleeping.
