Circular earthenware dinner plate with central indentation. Around the rim a band of turquoise, with a band of gray inside. At centre an acorn twig with three leaves and three acorns in shades of green, brown, amber and pink. Underside slightly indented to form foot-rim, glazed.
History note: Formerly in the collection of Susie Cooper; bequeathed to her son, Timothy Barker, who gave it to the Museum.

‘Acorn’, pattern no. 1398, was introduced by Susie Cooper at the 1937 British Industries Fair. The double colour banding became one of the most popular patterns.
