Description

The pages in this sketchbook have been numbered holding the book upside-down, starting at the back cover. Coverboards covered in white linen. Off-white paper. Collocation: four gatherings containing the following number of folios: eight (one attached to front cover); eight; eight; eight (one attached to back cover.) Blank sides 11(recto), 14(recto), 17(recto, with offsets), 21(recto). Fairly equally divided between studies of legs, arms, faces and outdoor scenes usually featuring trees. Several studies are annotated or titled, especially portraits of 'Sophy', also 'Marchand playing guitar'.
